أكد الدكتور يسري الجمل وزير التربية والتعليم أنه في حالة ظهور إصابات بمرض إنفلونزا الخنازير بالمدارس سيتم اتخاذ القرارات طبقا لحالة كل مدرسة وكل منطقة.وقال: إن قرار إغلاق فصل أو عدة فصول من سلطة المحافظ بالتشاور مع مديري التربية والتعليم والصحة, لكن قرار غلق مدرسة يتم بالتنسيق بين وزيري الصحة والتعليم والمحافظ المختص,وأعلن ذلك خلال اجتماع اللجنة المشتركة بين الوزارتين أمس لمتابعة خطة التعامل مع مرض إنفلونزا الخنازير بالمدارس, وذلك عبر شبكة الفيديو كونفرانس,وقال: إن قرار إغلاق المدارس يتخذ بناء علي مؤشرات صحية تتخذ علي المستوي المركزي بالوزارتين, مطالبا المدارس بالإبلاغ عن أي حالات مشتبه بها.يأتي ذلك في الوقت الذي أعلنت فيه وزارة الصحة عن ظهور11 حالة إصابة جديدة بالمرض, ليبلغ عدد الحالات بمصر حتي الآن727 حالة, تم شفاء600 حالة منها,فيما أكدت الوزارة ـ في بيان لها ـ بساطة أعراض المرض في شكله الحالي, مما يستلزم تخفيف العبء علي المستشفيات بقصر استقبالها علي الحالات من الفئات العمرية أقل من5 سنوات وأكثر من65 سنة, فضلا عن المعرضين لمضاعفات المرض, والاكتفاء بعلاج الحالات الأخري بالمنازل, مع اتباع الاحتياطات الوقائية اللازمة.
