أنت حينما تنام .. تتحول إلى شجرة

هناك زر كهربائي في المخ ينطفئ في لحظة النوم .. فيسود الظلام و تسود الغيبوبة .. و تمر الشخصية بحالة
غرق و يتحول الإنسان إلى شجرة .. إلى نبات بدائي .. إلى شيء تستمر فيه الحياة على شكل وظائف

.. دورة الدم تجري .. النفس يتردد .. الخلايا تفرز .. الأمعاء
تهضم .. كل هذا يتم بطريقة تلقائية و
الجسد ممدد بلا حراك .. تماماً مثل نبات مغروس في الأرض تجري فيه العصارة و تنمو الخلايا و تتنفس
من أكسوجين الجو
.
إنها لحظة غريبة يسقط فيها الجسد في هوة التعب و العجز .
و يستحيل عليه التعبير عن روحه و معنوياته الراقية فيأخذ إجازة .. و يعود ملايين السنين إلى الوراء ..
ليعيش بطريقة بدائية كما كان يعيش النبات .. حياة مريحة لا تكلف جهداً
..
إن سر الموت يكمن في لغز النوم .. لأن النوم هو نصف الطريق إلى الموت , نصف الإنسان الراقي يموت
أثناء النوم .. شخصيته تموت .. عقله يموت .. و يتحول إلى كائن منحط مثل الإسفنج و الطحلب
يتنفس و ينمو بلا وعي .. و كأنه فقد الروح .
إنه يقطع نصف الطريق إلى التراب .. و يعود مليون سنة إلى الخلف ..
يعود عقله الواعي إلى ينبوعه الباطن . و تعود شخصيته الواعية إلى ينبوعها الطبيعي الذي يعمل في غيبوبة
كما تعمل العصارة في لحاء الشجر .. و يلتقي الإنسان بخاماته الطبيعية .. بجسده و ترابه و مادته و الجزء
اللاوعي من وجوده
..
إن الشعراء يقولون أن لحظات النهار سطحية لأن ألوان النهار البراقة تخطف الانتباه .. و لحظات الليل
عميقة لأن الليل يهتك هذا الستار البراق و يفك أغلال الانتباه فيغوص في أعماق الأشياء ..
و أنا أقول أن لحظة النعاس هي أعمق اللحظات لأنها تهتك ستاراً آخر و هو ستار الألفة .
النعاس يمحو الألفة بيني و بين الأشياء فتبدو غريبة مدهشة مما يدعوني أحياناً إلى التساؤل .. و أنا أنظر
حولي في غرفة نومي بين النوم و اليقظة .. و أهمس : أنا فين ؟

إني لا أتعرف على سريري .. و لا أتعرف على دولابي .. و تسقط الألفة تماماً بيني و بين غرفتي فتبدو
غريبة ..
و هذه اللحظة عميقة .. لأن العقل يخرج فيها من إطار ظروفه و يتحرر من الألفة تماماً بيني و بين غرفتي
فتبدو غريبة ..
و هذه اللحظة لحظة عميقة .. لأن العقل يخرج فيها من إطار ظروفه و يتحرر من الألفة و التعود و
الأحكام العادية و ينظر حوله من جديد .. ليصدر أحكاماً جديدة أكثر تحرراً .. و إلهاماً .
و الأنبياء كانوا يتلقون إلهامهم في هذه اللحظة .. و كأن الوحي يأتيهم بين النعاس و الغيبوبة
..
و نيوتن اكتشف قانون الجاذبية في هذه اللحظة .. و هو ينظر بعين نعسانة إلى تفاحة تسقط من الشجرة
.. لقد أحس أن سقوط التفاحة أمر غير مألوف .. و أن التفاحة لا يمكن أن تسقط على الأرض .. و إنما
الأرض هي التي يجب أن تجذبها ..
و كل المخترعين و المؤلفين و الشعراء و المفكرين .. تفتقت أذهانهم في هذه اللحظة .. لأنها اللحظة
الحرجة التي سقط فيها المألوف .. و المعتاد .. و لمعت الحياة بالدهشة .. و برق العقل بأسئلة جديدة تماماً
.. لم يكن ليلقيها لو كان في كامل يقظته .. و كامل ارتباطه بالأشياء
..
و الفرق بين النبي .. و العبقري .. في تلك اللحظة هي مساحة الرؤيا التي تنكشف لكل واحد .
النبي يشبه جهاز تلفزيون به مليون صمام .. مساحة الرؤيا فيه شاسعة .. و قدرة استقباله كبيرة .. فهو
يستطيع أن يستقبل صوراً من المريخ على شاشة بانورامية عريضة لأنه مؤيد بوسائل إلهية
.
و العبقري هو جهاز ترانزيستور صغير يكاد يستمع إلى محطة القاهرة بالسعودية .. لأنه يعتمد على
اجتهاد الخاطر الذي قد يخطئ و قد يصيب ..
و لكن الاثنين يسبحان جنباً إلى جنب في بحر الحقائق

و النوم في حقيقته يقظة عميقة .. تتيقظ فيه الوظائف
الأصلية .. فتنتظم دورة الدم .. و ينتظم التنفس .. و ينتظم الهضم .. و الإمتصاص و الإفراز و يتوقف الهدم .. و يبدأ النمو و البناء و يقل الإحتراق الذي يحدث في النهار

و تتيقظ رغبات أكثر أصالة من رغبات النهار .. الغرائز كلها تتيقظ و تعمل .. و تنشر نشاطها في الأحلام .. و تفضح نزواتها على مسرح رمزي مبهم لا يستطيع فك رموزه و طلاسمه إلا صاحبه

و يدخل النوم بعد هذا في مرحلة أعمق .. هي النوم الثقيل .. و هي مرحلة تخلو من الإحساس تماماً.. و تخلو من الأحلام أيضاً.. مرحلة من الظلام .. و العدم .. و هوّة بعيدة الغور .. و مساحة مشطوبة من الحياة .. ليس فيها وعي و لا زمن .. و لا مكان .. العشر ساعات تمر فيها كلمح الطرف بين غمضة العين و انتباهتها .. بدون إحساس بالمدة .. و كأن خيط العمر انقطع فجأة .. كما يحدث حينما نقطع أشرطة التسجيل ثم
نوصلها من جديد ليستمر سياق الكلام كما نريد ..

السياق الزمني في النوم غريب
إنه زمن آخر غير زمن الساعة .. فالحلم قد يحتوي على أحداث سنة كاملة بتفاصيلها من حب إلى زواج إلى طلاق إلى جريمة و مع هذا لا يستغرق بحساب الساعة أكثر من ثانية ..

و العكس يحدث أحياناً فتمر على النائم عشر ساعات و في ظنه أن عقرب الساعة لم يتحرك إلا دقائق معدودة ..

الزمن يتخلص من قيود الساعة أثناء النوم .. و يخضع لتقدير آخر هو تقدير المخيلة التي توسع و تضيق فيه على حسب ازدحامها بالحوادث و الرغبات .. إنه من صناعة النائم و خلقه .. فهو ذاتي صرف ..

النائم كالفنان الذي يؤلف قصة .. يخلق زمن القصة كما يريد .. و يعيش في قمقم خرافي من أوهامه .. يتمطى فيه و يصرخ بالرغبة التي يحبها .. في حرية مطلقة تصل إلى حد العبث ..

ومعظم أحلامنا عبث في عبث .. و أمنيات مستحيلة .. و لكننا نعيشها كما نريدها ونحن نائمون ..

و النوم أرخص أنواع الحياة من حيث الكلفة .. فمقدار السكر و الأكسجين الذي يحتاجه النائم ليستمر في الحياة أقل بكثير من المقدار الذي يحتاجه في اليقظة .

و الإنسان الذي يعيش مائة سنة بين نوم و يقظة يستطيع أن يعيش ثلاثمائة سنة إذا عمل على حسابه أن ينامها كلها ..

و مادة النوم رخيصة .. لأن الإنسان يقترب فيه من التراب .. ويعود إلى الآلية الكيميائية المتأصلة في خلاياه من بداية الحياة ...

Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian offers sanctuary to Coptic Christians

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — What started out as a leisurely Saturday afternoon at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sango for Pastor Stewart Salyer ended with an opportunity to demonstrate the ecumenical spirit that Christian denominations speak of so often. For Salyer, though, this would not be something to talk about. It would be something that could be done.

A young man with his wife and child spotted Salyer in the church parking lot and pulled in to speak with him. The man, Matthew Japheth, inquired about the possibility of holding Christian worship services at Bethel once a month on a Saturday morning.

From that conversation came several more conversations, including Sayler talking with the church Session members. Sharing a church facility with another congregation is done all the time across America, even when the congregations are from differing traditions. But this was going to be different.

Coptic Christians

On Saturday, July 5, St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church held its first monthly worship service at Bethel. Coptic Christians are among the earliest Christians to form after the death of Jesus Christ.

The faith tradition traces its roots to the years between 42 and 62 A.D. It was the Apostle St. Mark who founded Coptic Christianity after going to Egypt following the death of Christ. Coptic means "Egypt." The name has survived and is no different than using the words American Christians or French Christians.

Copts, as they are referred to, are not part of Roman Catholicism. They split from Rome in 325 A.D., long before the split that created the Greek or Eastern Orthodox Church in 1054. The tradition precedes the founding of Islam in 632.

'Father John'

The Rev. Youhanna Ghebranious serves as pastor of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, which is based in Nashville. There are six Coptic congregations in Nashville. Adel Salama serves as the Clarksville contact.

Ghebranious, affectionately called Father John, explained, "There are between 12,000 and 15,000 Coptic Christians in Nashville. The greatest number of Copts are in Egypt, where we are 10 percent of the total population of 85 million. We are a distinct minority, and we continue to be subjected to violent persecution and discrimination.

"We have 11 families in our congregation that add up to 55 members. Having a monthly worship service in Clarksville is something we have talked about for some time. Because of Pastor Stewart and his congregation, we now have a home here where we can worship."

Coptic worship and traditions

To a casual observer, a Coptic Christian worship service is similar to an Eastern Orthodox service. The priest wears vestments, there is incense used and Holy Communion is central to the service. Egyptian is the language used. All but one member of the congregation are Egyptian. The other member is from Eritrea.

Father John wants to educate people to Coptic traditions. "We are followers of Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and Savior and provides us with everything we need. Our style of worship reflects our culture and traditions," he stated.

"Copts are the forgotten part of the Christian story. Yet our founder was one of the original 12 apostles. Monastic traditions began in Egypt with St. Anthony and, from there, spread throughout the Middle East and into Europe."

Persecution

Among church leaders and media representatives, it is generally agreed that today the Coptic Christians are the most persecuted Christians on earth.

"In Egypt, we are blamed for everything. The Muslim Brotherhood blames the Copts for the overthrow of former-President Morsi. We have lived in harmony with Arabs and Muslims for centuries, but the jihadists hate us, even more than they hate other Christians. The ISIS terrorists are the same way."

Active persecutions are taking place in Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Turkey. At least 40 Coptic churches were burned following the fall of President Morsi in 2013.

"Abdel el-Sissi, the new Egyptian president, is tolerant of us and has assured us he will stop the killings and the burning of our churches," said Father John. "We are a people of peace and wish to live in harmony with people everywhere."

Living in harmony

"We are very grateful to the people of Bethel and to Pastor Stewart for letting us worship here. I hope some Bethel members will attend one of our services and experience our faith with us. We want to teach others and also learn from others."

For Salyer's part, "This is a great opportunity for our congregation. We already share our Christian faith, and by working together, we will learn to share our cultures and customs."
