Imagine working six days a week at very young age. The three essays show the challenges the children had to face in child labor. One challenge is the lack of Education. Another challenge is that sometimes they also have to deal with illness. The most important challenge is the children had to work long hours because of child slavery. In these depressing essays, The authors show that dangers of child labor still exist today in order to explain the lack of education, Illness, and child slavery.
In the first article, the challenge was the Lack of Education. Instead of learning at school they have to work at a mill, which is very unfair. According to the article 1,” I’m happy I can support my family, but I would rather go to school and be an educated person.” This evidence proves that the children wish they could go to school but they can not because they have to work. It is sad when the children to grow up and not know how to read and write.
In the second article, the challenge is Illness. The little children can get sick working but they still have to work. According to text 2,”One 12-year-old boy in
said he developed a “horrible” a headache while working.” This evidence shows that the children can get sick but they still have to do their job. The children should not work if they are sick or Ill. They could get even sicker if they do not rest, but they still have to do their work. North Carolina
The final challenge in the third article is child slavery. The fact that the children having to work six days a week at very young age is wrong. According to text 3,”Yet the practice of slavery continues in Hati, this time against its most vulnerable citizens.” This evidence proves that child slavery is continuing. These children should not have to deal with this problem because it is unfair for them working 6 days a week for low wages and not being educated.
In these shocking articles, the authors show that the dangers of child labor still exists today in order to explain the lack of education, Illness, and child slavery. The children had to deal with not being educated. They also had to deal with illness and sickness while working. Finally, they had to work long hours because of child labor. What will happen if the whole world had to deal with these challenges?
