لا آثار جانبية تذكر للقاح أنفلونزا الخنازير
قال أنثوني فاوسي مدير المعهد الوطني للحساسية والأمراض المعدية في واشنطن اليوم إن التجارب السريرية للقاح أنفلونزا الخنازير التي بدأت في الولايات المتحدة في مطلع شهر أغسطس الجاري لم تظهر بعد أي آثار جانبية مثيرة للقلق. وأضاف فاوسي في مؤتمر صحفي عبر الهاتف أن المتطوعين الراشدين الذين شاركوا في السابع من أغسطس الجاري في التجربة الأولى من بين التجارب السريرية الخمسة المقررة لم يواجهوا من المشاكل سوى انتفاخ المنطقة المحيطة بنقطة الحقن أو تورم في الذراع. وقال فاوسي إن هذه النتائج الجيدة سمحت لاحقا ببدء التجارب السريرية لدى الأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين الستة أشهر والسبع عشرة سنة في التاسع عشر والعشرين من أغسطس الجاري. وأضاف فاوسي أن المعهد الوطني سينتظر تحليل نتائج التجارب كلها بحلول منتصف شهر سبتمبر القادم من أجل معرفة ما إذا كانت جرعة واحدة كافية أم أننا بحاجة إلى جرعتين من أجل الحماية المثلى. وعلى الصعيد نفسه قال الطبيب جاي باتلر مدير خلية التلقيح ضد فيروس أنفلونزا الخنازير في المراكز الفدرالية للوقاية من الأمراض خلال المؤتمر إن الولايات المتحدة ستحصل على ما يتراوح بين 45 و52 مليون جرعة بحلول منتصف شهر تشرين الأول و195 مليون جرعة بحلول نهاية العام، مشيرا إلى إصابة أكثر من مليون شخص في الولايات المتحدة أدخل على أثرها 7963 شخصا إلى المشفى، وتوفي بسببها 522 شخصا وأن 75 بالمئة من الحالات التي أدخلت إلى المشفى و60 بالمئة من الوفيات حصلت لدى أشخاص دون الـ 49 سنة. ومن المفترض أن تبدأ التجارب السريرية على حوالي 120 امرأة حامل في أيلول القادم وسيبلغ مجموع الأشخاص المشاركين في التجارب للقاح أنفلونزا الخنازير 4500 شخصا يتلقون جرعة من 15 ميليغرام أو جرعتين من ثلاثين ميليغرام. يشار إلى أن الفيروس استمر بالانتشار في الولايات المتحدة لكن وتيرة انتقال العدوى تباطأت باستثناء ولايتين كما تدنت وتيرة انتقال العدوى في استراليا وأمريكا اللاتينية رغم أنهما تواجهان في هذه المرحلة الأنفلونزا الموسمية
